    The Washington Conference resulted in a naval armaments treaty that had set a ratio for the tonnage of capital ships. The Washington Conference was attended by Britain, France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, China, Japan, and Portugal. I think this historical event was important because this preserved peace during the 1920's and it established the rising of the Japanese Empire.
