    On the 28th of June 1914, exactly one month to the day that Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated, Austria-Hungary (Ferdinand's country), declares war on Serbia.

    Germany declares war on Russia, hereby expanding the outrbreak of WW1.
  • France Involved in WW.

    Germany declares war on France, adding them to the list of enemies along with Russia.
  • Germany Invades.

    Germany invades neutral Belgium, therefore Britain declares war on Germany.

    The Battle of the Frontiers begins.

    The Battle of Verdun, fought between France and Germany in 1916, started on the 21st February and ended 18th December.

    Battle of Somme.
    The Battle of the Somme started in July 1st 1916. It lasted until November 1916.
  • Battle of Passchendaele.

    Battle of Passchendaele.
    The Battle of Passchendaele was officially known as the Third Battle of Ypres. Passchendaele was mainly known for its mud, many men and horses drowned as it eventually got deeper. Australian infantry divisions joined the third battle, in just over a week, there were almost 11,000 Australian casualties. The Battle of Passchendaele ended on the 6th of November.
