Mother and Great-Grandmother read Bible to us every day
My family went to church on a regular basis, and the Bible was the primary book in our home. They also prayed with us each night. -

Teacher read picture books
Little Red Riding Hood, Three Little Bears, Jack & The Beanstalk -
3rd grade- Watched Sesame Street & Electric Company
These shows were instrumental in helping me with grammar and spelling. I watched them after school every day. Lots of fun! -
5th grade- 1st library book: Charlotte's Web
I had to do my first book report and it was hard. I was a good reader, but my comprehension was a little slow. :-( -
Received my 1st Bible
I was baptized on this day and was given a Bible and certificate of baptism. -
1st set of Encyclopedia
My mother didn't have time to take us to the public library due to her work schedule, therefore she bought us a set of encyclopedia to help with our homework. -
Started watching sitcoms on TV
Favorite sitcoms were: I Love Lucy, Good Times, All in the Family, Mary Tyler Moore, and Sanford and Son. -
Started reading to my one year old daughter
I was reading to her before she was born, but became an avid reader to her at this time. -
Enrolled in Ministry School at my church
Strted reading the Bible more in depth after entering Ministry School; Became a licensed Minister in 2009. -
Enrolled in Tarrant County College
Began my first Speech class on Saturdays; had to give three oral presentations in this class. -
Earned AA degree in Teaching
I was the first of my siblings to receive an Associate's degree. My mother came from Arkansas to celebrate with me! Hallelujah! -
Enrolled at TWU. Denton to pursue a BS degree in EC-6 w/ ESL certification
This is a tough journey, but I've been told that I can make it if I keep trying. I'm looking forward to helping the children reach their goals and be successful in learning and growing to be productive citizens.
