  • Japanese invasion of china

    In 1937 skimishing between japanese and chinese troops on the frontier led to what became known as the marco polo bridge incident. Needed resources only way was invasions. Japan descended into stale mate by 1940.
  • German Blitzkrieg

    Blitzkrieg is a military tactic designed to create disorganization aming enemy forcess through the use of mobile forces and locally concentrated fire power. It was a new tactic tried on Poland first in 1939 before succesfully employing the tactic invasion of Belgium. Effects were to mobily move and destroy everyone and everything during invasions.
  • pearl harbor

    Just before 8 a.m. on december 7, 1941, hundreds of japanese fight planes attacked the american naval base at Pearl Harbor near honolulu, hawii;We don't know Japan just declared war on us. the Japanese managed to destroy nearly 20 American, Naval vessels,including eight enormous battleships, and more than 300 airplanes . More tha 2000 american soldiers and saliors died in the attack, and another 1000 were wounded, U.S. joined the war.

    Nazi officials meet to discuss the details of the "final solution'' of the jewish question. They blame all of there problems on the jews. the Holocaust is being born.
  • Bataan Death March

    U.S. surrender of the Bataan penisula on the main Philippine Island of Filipino and American troops on the Bataan were forced to make an arduous sixty-five mile march to prison camps. The marchers made the trek in intense heat and were subjected to harsh treatment by Japenese guards. Thousands perished in what became known as the Bataan Death March.
  • Warsaw Ghetto Uprising

    From April 19 to May 16, 1943, during WWII, residents of the jewish ghetto in Nazi- occupied Warsaw, Poland, staged an armed revolt against deportation to extermination camps. The Warsaw ghetto uprising inspired other revolts in extermination camps and ghettos through out gremany. Everyone massacred (jews and soldiers) If made it out still died anyways.

    Britain had suffered the deaths of 167 civilians as a result of german bombing raids in july. Britain dropped 2,300 tons of incendiary bonbs on Hamburg, raids against Germans, towns were demolished in Germany.

    The battle of normandy, resulted in the alliberation of western europe from Nazi Germany control. To stop Germanies invasion. Northen france liberated but by the following spring allies had defeated the Germans.
  • Battle of Bulge

    Adolph Hitler attempts to split the allied armies in the northwest europe by means of a surprise Blitzkrieg thrust through the ardennes to Antwerp. Split allied armies and take over. Germany ran out of fuel and were stopped.
  • Battle of Iwo Jima

    The American amphibious invasion of Iwo Jima during WWII skimmed from need for a base near the Japan coast. Iwo Jima was defended by roughly 23000 japanese, The mrinees wiped out the defending forces after months and took over.
  • VE Day

    Both great britain and the U.S. celebrated victory in Europe day. put out flags to signify their win of Nazi war machine. The germans layed down there arms.
  • Liberation of consentration camps

    Soviet solidrs were the first to liberate concentration camp prisoners in the final stages of war. On July 23,1944, they entered the Majdarek camp in Poland, and later over ran several other killing centers. On January 27, 1945, they entered Auschwitz and there found hundreds of sick and exhausted prisoners.

    Japan surrendered after attomic bombs dropped. It defined terms for Japanese surrender of all Japanese armed forces during WWII.

    President Harry S, Truman warned by some of the advisers that any attempt to invade Japan would result in horrific american casualties, ordered that the new weapon be used to bring the war to a speedy end. on August 6,1945, the American bomber enola gay dropped a five-ton bomb over the Japanese city of Hiroshima.

    On Aughust 15, 1945, news of surrender has been announced to world. This sparked Spontaneous celebrations over final ending of WWII, on September 2, 1945, a formal surrender ceremony was held in Tokyo Bay a Board the USS Missouri, at the time, President Truman declared September 2 to be VJ day
