Germany uses its new blitzkrieg tactic to swiftly invade Poland. Poland was not ready for this invade, and lost it's country to the Nazi Regime in only 18 days.

After taking Poland, Germany's next target was France. The French were prepared for a front facing attack, and built a line of military bunkers and had soldiers stationed ready for an attack. Germany, now controlling Poland, simply went around the line and attacked the French from behind.

After the Nazis captured France, there eyes were then set across the English channel to Britain. Soon after, Germany bombarded Britain over the course of a few months. This was known as the battle of Britain.

The US gave Britain war supplies and old military naval ships in exchange, for building bases on Britain territory in Bermuda and the Caribbean.

Germany invades the Soviet Union and eventually reaches Stalingrad. The battle lasts several months with the two sides being at almost a stalemate. The Soviet Union comes out on top striking a big blow to German forces. The casualties of both civilians and military forces are about 2 million.

Japan's plan to conquer the Pacific ocean is in full affect. The US base in Hawaii stands in the way of there plan. In the early morning, Japanese bombers and fighters bomb Pearl Harbor and kill over 2,000 US naval soldiers and sink 3 battleships.

After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the U.S. wanted revenge on Japan, and declared war. Around the same time Germany declared war on the U.S. because of they were giving supplies to the Allies.

The U.S. and Japan had what was known as the most important battle for turning the tide of the war in Midway. Four Japanese vessels were sank while the U.S. lost aircraft and seamen.

The allied forces invade Normandy, France, in hopes of opening a hole in the German defenses. After the allies being caught off guard by how prepared the Germans were, they took the beach and began their invasion. This day would send Germany on a backpedal and be known as D-day.

America makes the decision to drop two atomic bombs on Japan; one being at Hiroshima and later, one on Nagasaki. These cause severe damage and civilian casualties, and is what causes Japan to then surrender to the United States.
