  • Hitler orders conscription

    Hitler ordered a conscription to increase the size of his army, this was against the treaty of versallies
    Hitler also incresed the size of his air force which was another broken rule of the treaty of versallies
  • Italy takes over Ethiopia

    Italy took over Ethiopia because Italy felt like they were cheated out of land in WWI. The only reason the league of nations didnt stop this is because they didnt have an army to inforce it. This was a act of aggression.
  • Hitler sends troops to Rhineland

    Rhineland was a demiliterized zone this means no german troops were allowed here. France tried to force the troops out of Rhineland but could not do this without Britains help
  • Rome-Berlin Axis is formed

    The Rome-Berlin axis was made Germany and Italy. Later into the war japan decided to join the axis
  • Hitler declares Anschluss

    Hitler declared Anchlusss to unify Germany and Austria. Germany threatend world war to get the land. Britain and France let this go because they were ttrying to appease Germany to not start a world war.
  • Munich pact is signed

    The Munich pact was an aggreement that Germany would quit taking land. Germany would later break this agreement when they lauch a blitzkrieg
  • germany attacks Poland

    Germany launched A Blitzkrieg on Poland to gain there land. This broke the Munich pact adn the treaty of versailles
  • Germany attacks Denmark, Norway, Netherlands, Belgium, and france

    Germany launched Blitzkriegs on all these countries to gain land. He also did this so that Britain would have no allies to help fight the war.

    Hitler ordered his airforce to star bombing Britain. This led to Germany invading Russia one of Britans only lasting allies
  • Japan attacks Pearl Harbor

    Japan did this to ruin the U.S.As air force and navy so that they couldnt fight in the pacific. This happend because the U.S.A limited trade and oil supply to Japan.
  • Soviets defeats Germany at Battle of Stalingrad

    Soviets won due to the harsh winters and the vaste geography. This was the first battle that Germany has lost. Was a real major turning point of the war.
  • D-Day

    This was the biggest naval invasion in history. Over the spand of three months they landed over 2 million troops and a half a million vehicles on the french beaches.

    U.S. drops atomic bombs on Japan

    The U.S. urged Japan to surrendor before something like this happend. Two atomic bombs were dropped, (little boy and big boy) one on Hiroshima and the other on Nagasaki.
  • Japan Surrenders

    Japan surrendered almosta month after the atomic bombs were dropped. This ultimatly ended world war 2
