After fighting for almost a year Italy finally takes over Ethopia. Mussolini attacked Ethopia for other reasons too like his belief that they were responsible for an attack in 1934 between the two countries.

Hitler and Stalin signed a Non-Agression pact with each other that prevented them from attacking each other and let them do their own thing. This pact would make room for Hitler to fight a western front and then an Eastern front. If this pact was not signed Germany might have been fighting a two front war.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt signs the Lend'Lease Act to Germany. This bill allowed for the U.S. to lend supplies to countries without compensation. This Act mainly helped the British in their fight with the Germans.

Japenese forces launch an attack on US Naval Base, Pearl Harbor. This attack was unprovoked and was the start to the United States joining the Second World War.

Allied powers crossed the English channeled to invade the beaches of Normandy, France. This was the beggining of the liberation from Nazi control during WWII. Normandy, was at the northeastern part of France, and D-Day is known as one of the bloodiest battles in History.

Adolph Hitler committed suicide in his underground bunker. He first swallowed a cyanide capsule and then shoot himself with a pistol.

Japan agrees to surrender to the Allied Powers. After two atomic bombs dropped in Hiroshima and Nagasaki (two major Japenese cities at them time) Japan surrenders. Japan did not intend to surrender after the first bomb, but after two bombs they decided they would not be able to take any more bombings.
