    In 1935 Hitler started to ignore the Treaty of Versailles. He build up the German Military even though he was not supposed to have a Military over a certain size, that was set by the Treaty of Versailles.

    b. Hitler called it unification. Hitler thought that Germany could expand its territory only by resorting to force with its attendant risks. The significance is Germany invaded Austria

    Germany demanded control over the Sudetenland. France, Soviet Union, Neville Chamberlain, Britain all supported protecting Czechoslovakia
  • Munich Conference

    Britain, France, Italy, and Germany all meet in Munich, to figure out what they would do about Czechoslovakia. They agreed to Hitler’s demands, they thought that this way they could avoid a war.

    Hitler demanded the city of Danzig need to be returned to German Control. Also demanded a highway and railroad across the polish corridor. Britain and France now know that war is inevitable.

    A way to protect the USSR would be to let the capitalist countries tear each other apart. It was a secret deal to divide Poland.

    The name is making fun of a different war, and how slow it is. Westerner Europe remained quit, France and Britain remained on the Defensive.

    France build a line of concrete bunkers and fortifications called Maginot Line. The Maginot line would have worked really well if Germany would have gone over them but Germany just went around the barricade. Hitler went through Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg. This allowed Germany to concentrate on Poland.
