    1.5 million German troops were involved in the invasion of Poland. They attacked Polish airfields and naval forces at the same time. Hitler wanted Poland to be occupid by "racially uperior" Germans.

    In the late afternoon of 31 May 1942 three Japenese submarines each launched a Type A midget submarine for an attack on shipping in Sydney Harbour. This was the first WWII was bought to Australia.
