During this event Japan's Kwangton Army invaded Manchuria. Also during this year the Marco Polo Bridge occurred. Japan's invasion of China happened because of Japan's desire to be an imperial power. An effect of this event was that the national government had to move more inland. -
Rape of Nanking
The Rape of Nanking was a tragic event that occurred. The city of Naking was ordered to be destroyed by a Japanese General Matsui Iwane. During this time most of the city of Nanking was burned also a campaign was launched against the people of Nanking Which became known as the "Rape of Nanking". Many men and women were killed during this time and women and girls of all ages were raped an esimated number of 20,000. In the end General Matsui was charged for war crimes and had been executed. -
Ribbentrop/Molotov Pact
The Ribbentrop/Molotov also known as the German-Soviet pact was an offical treaty between Germany and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics for non-aggression. This agreement promised that they would not attack each other. During this time an economic agreement was also signed that stated that Germany would exchange manufactured goods for the Soviet raw goods. An effect of this was that it allowed Germany to attack Poland -
Germany's invasion of Poland
Germany's invasion of Poland was an attack on Polish lands. During this time German troops invaded Poland by surrounding Poland borders. Germans bombed Poland's airfields, set up warships and u-boats in the Baltic sea. An effect of this event was the involvement of Britain and France in WWII. -

The German Blitzkrieq also known as the lighting war was a war tactic against its opponents. During this time such weapons like tanks, planes and artillery were used along a narrow front. During time time Germany took over much of Europe. An effect was that this tactic made enemies shocked at their success as well as causing disorganization among them. -

The fall of paris was a day were germans were to invade the streets of paris. During this day German tanks rolled on to paris.As the day progressed germans started to make arrests, interrogations, and spying. A result of this was that president Roosevelt froze the american assets of the Axis of power. -
Operation Barbossa
Operation Barbossa was the largest militarty operation in history.It involved more than three million troops and 3,500 tanks. The operation was based on Hitler's belief of the 'master race' would live in the east. An effect would be that an enormous amout of troops, resources, tanks, and aircrafts were lost. -

The attack of Pearl Harbor was a bombing done by the japanese.What happened was that on dec. 7, 1914 hundreds of japanese planes dropped bombs on pearl harbor which at the time was an american naval base. An effect of this event was that President Franklin D. Rooswevelt asked congress to declare war on japan. Later the congress approved. -
Wannsee conference
These people had a meeting and it involved seniors officials from the Nazi Germany. They talked and coordinate the implementation Final Solution of the Jewish Question. The seniors came to settle the jewish questions. The result is that the jews were sent to Poland to be murder. So the effect was that the Jews were being killed for no good reason. -
Operation Gomorrah
Opperation Gomorrah was a raid on Germany there was British bombers. 167 Britain people died to that bombing in july, but they going to change. After that Britain went to bomb them again but this time with 2,300 tons of incendiary bombs. That bomb had killed over 1,500 Germans. So there was 12 aircrafts lost and they used aluminum foil to cover there routes to drop bombs and this strategy was called Window. -
D-Day
The battle of Normandy had an allied liberation of Western Europe. 156,000 American, British, Canadian did an attack on Germany five beaches in a 50 mile radius. This raid was one of the biggest fight the world have ever seen. Normandy had started a new war with Germany and called it the end of the war in Europe. -

Operation Thunderclap made a agreement to bomb the eastern side cities of Germany. They wanted to disrupt the infrastructures what was coming from the eastern side. Germany had a horrible impact by the Nazi regime because they failed them. Hitler wanted to attack the northwest Europe so he can seperate the Allied army. America had the struggle to fight them off so the Germans don't advance. While Germany is trying to win the war, but the Allied was seen as a large bulge. -

America needed more bases near Japanese coast. After a while they got 3 US marine division had aboard the island. The iwo jima had to defend about 23,000 Japanese army and had to fight them from network caves, dugouts, tunnel and underground installation so they can survive. After of a month fighting the Americans won against the defending Japanese army. -
Battle of Okinawa
The battle of Okinawa was the last biggest coastal war in world war ii.The battle consist of 287,000 American troops and 130,000 Japanese soilders. On day 82 of the war the Japanese lost 77,000 soldiers and their allies had 65,000 casualties and 14,000 dead. Japan had to change their tactics of defending in the depth of the water edge. Japan had a suicide mission to have an airal attack with a one way in and no way back. -
VE Day
After the battle Czechoslovakia ended a million of Germans attempted to leave but have been stopped by Russians and taken captive. The Russian had taken 2 million Germans captives after they surrender. 13,000 British POWs have been sent back to Great Britain. -
Dropping of the atomic bombs
On this day americans were the first to use of atomic bombs during a war. What happened during this day was that americans dropped an atomic bomb on a japanese town of Hiroshima.An effect was that this bombing ended World war II. -
VJ Day
VJ day was the day that the surreneder of Japan was announced. Japan surrendered to the Allies offically aboared the U.S.S missouri. An effect was it was the ending of World war II.
