    The rape of Nanking was a horrible event in history. During this time, Japanese General Matsui ordered the city of Nanking to be destroyed. This was a choice to attempt to break the spirits of the Chinese resistance. In the end more than 200,000 men were killed as soldiers and civilians alike.
