    German Blitzkrieg
    A blitzkrieg is a German military tactic leading to disorganization of the enemy by mobile forces and firepower. Germany was victorious by using this "lightening war" tactic for more than two years. The offence consisted of the use of tanks, artillery, and planes in shooting down at a narrow front.     The French fall to the Germans after they attacked theur capital city. The French fleed Paris, leaving it as an open city, letting the Germans enter. France surrenders, trying to keep the peace between them and their opponents. This leaves France the consequences after the invasions.

  • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor
    The Japanese fighter planes attack the American naval base in Honolulu, Hawaii, leaving unbearable damage. The next day President Roosevelt declared war on Japan, bringing America into the war after two years of staying out of it. Then three days later, Italy and Germany (allies of Japan) declared war on the US. The US was not expecting war, but the Japanese's plan to primarily destory the Pacific fleet to take over all the trade.

    Wannsee Conference
    Nazi parties and German government officials meet in the suburb of Berlin, Wannsee. They established this meeting to discuss the final solution of the Jewish question. The Jewish question was whether to terminate all of the Jews in Europe. After this meeting, the result was to set up consentration camps and the genocides of all the Jews.

    Battle of Stalingrad
    Taken place in Russia, the Battle of Stalingrad was considered to the one of the bloodiest wars in history with over two million casualties. This battle is considered to be one of the turning points of the Eastern front or World War II. The Russians were pushed to protect their city because of the industrial and transportational benefits.

    Warsaw Ghetto Uprising
    The WArsaw Ghetto was an area that many Jews were killed to try to escape the consentration camp genocides of the Holocaust. The Germans murdered 300,000 Jews in this area. Meanwhile, over 20,000 tried to remain hiding to save their own lives.

    Operation Gomorrah
    The partners Britian and America were the minds behind Operation Gomorrah in 1943. The British was planning to attack Germany during the night as America was planning of attacking during the day, titled as "Blitz Week". After Britain suffering from the bombs of Germany to their land, the tables were being turned onto Germany this time.

    The British begin the invasion into the Italian peninsula in 1943. They first had the cross the strait of Messina of Siscily in order to get to Italy. The Italians had the dictator Mussolini at the time, in parenered with Germany, a stronger Axis power.

    It started as American, British, and Canadian forces landing on the beaches of Normandy in 1944. Nearly 156,000 troops stormed the beaches, over 4,000 casualties that day. This victory was a gateway for the allied forces to enter into Germany.

    Battle of the Buldge
    The allies rushed across France to get to Germany to fight. Hitler planned to split the Allied armies by a suprise blitzkrieg. Germany was in a bad spot in the war and was losing it terribly. The battle was claimed to be the largest land covered battle in history that the US participated in. The battle ran through an 80 mile front throughout southern Belgium.

    American amphibious invasion of Iwo Jima took place near the Japanese coast in 1945. The battle was fought in a network of dugouts, tunnels, caves, and other underground establishments. The conditions were rough, but the end of the war was concluded in an American victory.

    Dropping of the atomic bombs
    The American army was the first to use the atomic bomb in the dropping over Japan's city of Hiroshima. The bomb wiped out nearly 90% of the city, later most of the survivored died triggered by the radiation exposure. The bomb was dropped by the bomber Enola Gay, symbolizing the end of World War II and Japan's surrender to the United States.
