    U-Boat Sinks Lusitania

    The Lusitania, a British Cruise liner secretly carrying weapons for Great Britan was sunk by a Germany submarine called the "U-boat" While the U-boats were not supposed to attack neutral ships, one fired upon the Lusitania, killing 1200 passengers, including 128 Americans. America wanted to declare war, instead President Wilson asked Germany for payment for the damages, and continued to stay on the sidelines.

    British intelligence intercepted and decoded a telegram sent from Germany to Mexico, promising the Mexican Government that Germany would help Mexico recover the territory it had lost to America in exchange for support in the war. This was posted everywhere on the American post, causing tensions to rise between Germany and America.
