    A British liner was torpedoed by German submarines south of Ireland. The sinking killed 128 Americans. The United States tensions grew with Germany not only because the ship contained Americans on board but, Britain was a good ally of them.

    It targeted socialist and labor leaders. It violated the frist amendment because it restricted people from talking down of the government of military. The Schenck v. US court ruled that "the freedom of speech protection afforded in the U.S. Constitution’s First Amendment could be restricted if the words spoken or printed represented to society a clear and present danger.”

    The Zimmerman Note was a secret telegram sent by Germany to Mexico that proposed a military alliance. The secret telegram angered President Wilson and later caused him to declare war against Germany

    The Fourteen Points were statements that were used for peace negotiations to end World War I. The League of Nations was establsihed to conduct international peace agreements.

    Treaty of Versailles
    A peace treaty that ended World War I that was signed on June 28th, 1919 and enforced on January 10th, 1920. Germany had to pay 132 billion gold marks, which is equivalent to 33 billion dollars, for the damage of the war.

    The 19th amendment grants women the right to vote. During the war, women were employed in the pervious jobs that men took up. A lot of them also contributed to the war by working in the factory and suppling weapons and ammo.
