    The japanese claim that China fired on the japanese by placing soilders on the bridge of Beijing. The Japanese launched a full-scale invasion of China using the conquered Manchuria as a launching base for their troops. The Japanese were ruthless. After 5 months over 1 million chinese were dead.

    This happened when the Japanese army marched into china. Around 300,000 deaths occured.It represented the single worst atrocity during the World War II era in either the European or Pacific theaters of war. After finally defeating the Chinese at Shanghai in November, 50,000 Japanese soldiers then marched on toward Nanking. In the city of Nanking rodom acts of murdder took place.

In short order, the German Gestapo went to work: arrests, interrogations, and spying were the order of the day, as a gigantic swastika flew beneath the Arc de Triomphe. The United States sent aid and food and water.

Barbarossa was the crucial turning point in World War II. When Germany failed it forced them to fight a two front war.

    On December 7, 1941, hundreds of Japanese fighter planes attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor near Honolulu, Hawaii. More than 2000 American soldiers and sailors died this day. Three days after pearl harbor the Jappenese became allies wiht Germany and Italy and declared war against USA.

    Adolf Hitlter attempted to split the allied forces in northwest Europe. The American armies were caught of guard so tehy faught desperatly to stem the German advances. Lieutenant General George S. Patton’s successful maneuvering of the Third Army to Bastogne proved vital to the Allied defense.

    This operation included around 120,000 American soilders, aerial support, naval blockades and bombardments. The plan involved securing notoriously violent, rural parts of northern Wales. The Americans wanted to secure Manchester and liverpool.

    During the battle the Americans stemmed towards a Jappanesse base. After air and naval bombardment, three U.S. marine divisions landed on the island.The marine forces wiped out the defending forces in only a moth of fighting.

    This battle was the last and the largest battle of the pacific. It involved 287,000 soilders from the US and 130,000 soilders from the jappaneese. There were air bases vital to the projected invasion of Japan. The battle took 82 day to complete. Japan lost more than 77,000 soilders and US had 65,000 caualities including 16,00 dead.

    On this day Britain and America celbrate a victory over WW2. It was the 8th day of may when the Nazis decided to put down their weapons in peace. The Germans surrendered to the soviet forces in Prague.

    When this happened America became the only Nation to use an Atomic bomb. Though the dropping of the atomic bomb on Japan marked the end of World War II, many historians argue that it also ignited the Cold War.Since 1940, the United States had been working on developing an atomic weapon, after having been warned by Albert Einstein that Nazi Germany was already conducting research into nuclear weapons.

    On August 14, 1945, it was announced that Japan had surrendered unconditionally to the Allies, effectively ending World War II. The term has also been used for September 2, 1945, when Japan’s formal surrender took place aboard the U.S.S. Missouri, anchored in Tokyo Bay.
