    In the 1930's China was a divided country between communist and nationalists. The Japanese quickly took over Chinese cities and ports. In December of 1937, Japanese murdered 300,000 Chinese civilians and raped 80,000 Chinese women, many were killed by bombings from the japanese airforce. Due to the horrific nature of the type of warefare, an estimated 10 to 20 million civilian deaths were recorded.

    German Blitzkrieg
    A German term for "lightining war". Blitzkrieg is a war tactic used to disorganize the opposite force and cause less artilleray and deaths. They used tanks, planes, ang ground troops all at the same time. Germans tried out blitzkrieg for the first time in their incation of Poland and then later used it against Belgium, Natherlands, and France.

    1.5 million German troops invade Poland in the middle of the night on their 1,750 mile border. The Germand bombed Polish air fields at the same time, German navy attacked the Polish naval forces in the Baltic Sea. The German forces invaded Poland at a alarming rate because of the war tacktict known as "blitzkrieg" which means "lightening war". By September 8th Germans had already been 140 miles in the first week and were on the outskirts of Warsaw.

    Adolf Hitler sent his troops into the eastern part of the Soviet Union. There were three million soldiers, 150 divisions, and three thousand tanks. This massive invation was a spread over a distance of two thousand miles, Barbarossa was a turning point in WW2 because the Nazis fought a two- front war against superior resources.

    British bomber raid Germany, previously in themonth the Germans killed 167 civilians and they wanted the tables to turn on the Germans. More than 1,500 German civilians were killed during the first raid. This attack killed the german morale and after the raid 9,000 tons of explosives were dropped destroying everything.

    156,000 Allied troops invade 50 mile beach of Normandy beaches. One of the largest invations in military history. The northern france forces had been liberated and the Allies had defeated the germans. The beginning of the end of the war.

    America drops the worlds first atomic bombs in Japan wiping out 90 percent of the city of Hiroshima. Japan had refused to surrender so America went thriugh with their Manhattan project, which was the secret of the atomic bombs.
