Archduke was visiting Serbia. Many people were angry with him and a group called the "Black Hand" assassinated him in cold blood. This was the kick off of WW1. -
Germany Declares war on France
Germany found out that France started moving their forces to back up the Russians. -
Battle of Hill 60
The allies were trying to fight at Hill 60 because it would have been a great place for communication. -
Battle of Ypres
This is the first battle Germans got really involved with gas. They used huge amounts against the Allies. -
First Tanks
They could break through barbed wire without worry. It was a very powerful weapon. Changed warfare on a large scale. -
Battle of Somme
The British and French faced off against germans. This was on of the most bloodiest battle out of the whole war. Over 1,000,000 men were killed and injured. -
America is Coming!
America comes into the war. They are going to join the Allies and invade Germany. -
WW1 Starts to End
Finally, the Germans and the Allies start to negotiate, trying to settle down with the bloodshed and end this war. -
Kaiser Wilhelm was Abdicated
Kasier lost the support of most of his army and was abdicated to the netherlands. This helped end WW1. -
Treaty of Versailles
The Treaty of Versailles was the end of WW1 and peace was brought amongst us all again. Germany and the Allied powers were no more at war.
