    Assassination of Archduke
    The assignation of Archduke Ferdinand occurred on June 28, 1914. He & his wife where shot by Gravrilo Princip, one of six Bosnian Serb assassins. The assassination was organized by Danilo Llic. Serbian military officers supported the assassination.

    The Lusitania was a European(British) ocean liner, it was designed by Leonard Peskett and was built by John Brown & company. During WWI Germany attacked the liner with a submarine, on May 7,1915 it sank in eighteen minutes. It killed 1,198 people aboard and left 764 survivors. It became an iconic symbol in recruiting ads of why the war should be fought.

    The Zimmermann note was a propsal from the German empire to Mexico in 1917 to declare a war against the U.S. The note was caught by the British before it even got to Mexico, however, it made the American's angry that this revelation had occurred and it led the U.S to declare war in April.

    The Russian Revolution was a series of revolutions in Russia in 1917. It destroyed the Tsarist autocracy and it created the Soviet Union. The first revolution was caused by the provisional government when it replaced the Tsar. It took place during February 1917, the second took place during October and the Provisional Government was replaced with a Communist government.

    The Selective Service act was also refereed to as the Selective Draft act. It was passed by the Congress of the US on May 18,1917. It was being planned during December of the previous year and was presented to US President Woodrow Wilson after the break in relations with Germany. This act allowed the government to raise the national army to fight the war.

    The Espionage Act of 1917 was enacted on June 15,1917. It is a US federal law that was made at the start of WWI. It was originally supposed to prohibited any interference with military operations such as insubordination or recruitment, that supported enemies during the time of war. The court case Schenck V. US stated that the act was not in violation of freedom of speech.

    The War Industry Board was an agency created during WWI in 1917. It was made so that supply's for the war could be easily purchased. Companies used modern equpment for the time period to supply goods to the war.

    The fourteen points was a speech givin by Woodrow Wilson who was the president of the United States. The speech was givin to the joint session of Congress on January 8,1918.The note was intended to tell the country to be assured that the “Great War” was being fought for a good cause and peace in Europe.

    Armistice Day is also called Remembrance Day. It is held on November 11th it celebrates the signed allies during WWI of Germany during the hostilities of the Western Front in WWI. This official date marks the end of the war on the Western Front.

    Shenck V. US was a court decision that upheld the Espionage Act of 1917. It was finally decided on March 3,1919. The defendant in the case did not have the 1st amendment right to freedom of speech against the draft during the time of WWI.

    The Treaty of Versailles was a peace treaty that was created at the end of WWI. It ended the war between Germany and the allied powers. The treaty was signed June 28,1919, which was exactly five years after the assassination of Ferdinand. It took six months of negotiation at the Paris Peace conference to finish the treaty.
