After a bloody but victorious battle in Shanghai during the Sino-Japanese War, the Japanese turned towards Nanking and basically invaded them- killing, raping and basically a genocide. They did it because they were afraid of losing to Nanking in a battle. The result was a death toll over 200,000 to 300,000 people end of the war, Matsui (in charge) and his lieutenant Tani Hisao, were tried and convicted for war crimes by the International Military Tribunal for the Far East and were killed.

German troops invaded Poland, german luftwaffe bombed Polish airfeilds while German warships attacked polish navl forces in the Baltic sea. Resaon for this was because Hitler claimed taking Poland would create more living spance for the german people. The people ended up surrendering to the germans.

U.S Marines landed on the island of Iwo Jima , they needed a base near Japanese coast. Result was that the base was created and American Flag was raised after the battle and bloodshead.

( April 1,1945- June 22, 1945) It was to be the bloodiest battle on the pacific ( Operation Iceberg) it was vast when compared to any other operation undertaken by Allied forces in the Pacific War under U.S. Navy command. It basically tought us we could win against the Japanese.

Soviet Soldiers began to liberate concentration camps in the final stages of war. They knew they needed to stop the killings of all those prisoners basically. The result was soviet soldiers finding live survivors and evidence of mass murders.

(Victory of Europe day) It is a day celebrated where german troops laid their weapons down and surrendered while allies accepted the surrender. Because of this it is celebrated in Europe and over in America- flags andbanners areraised to celebrate.

Two atomic bombs were dropped on Japan - in Hiroshima and Nagasaki because they had refused to surrender after they had been warned twice. President Harry S. Truman made the call for the bombs to be dropped and because of this over 135,000 people were killed all together.
