German Blitzkrieg The ( Lighting War )
This time of history was caused by a new miltary made by the German Miltary. Since Hilter decided that he wanted to overtake countries quickly there was a series of air raids targeted at different countries. The first air strike struck Poland and cotinued throughout most of Europe. Through this strategy Hitler could imperalize the majority of europe quickly. -
Germany's Invasion of Poland
Germany overtook Poland with the notion that Non-Aggression Pact between the Soviet Union would keep them from intervening. They were able to defeat the Polan Army quickly. Hilter reasoned his conquest on Poland was to create more living space for German people. -
Operation Barbarbossa
Operation Barbarbossa was a code for German Invasion on the Soviet Union. This included heavy miltary attacks and mass killing operations. Hilter believed German people so he conducted a mass genocide of slave people after holding back Allie Forces in France. -
The Attack on Pearl Harbor
On this day Japnese's fighter planes targeted one of America's most essential naval ports. The result of this attack left the naval force devasted as many vessels and soldiers were loss. This attack was caused because Japan feared that Americans would stand in their way of imperializing the western world. -
Wannsee Conference
This conference was held high officals of German and the Nazi Party. It was conducted to find the answer to the final solution aim to wipe out the Jewish race completely. Many officials did not agree with Hitler or his plan but they helped him push a policy to act on it. -
Operation Gomorrah
The British Army sought revenge as 100 British people were killed in a bombing by the Germans. They decided to raid a Germany country by the name of Hamburg. The bombings were almost equal in destruction but over a thousand German Civilains were killed. This caused Germans to come to terms with defeat, -
Operation ThunderClap
This plan was an operation to destroyed Germany. After dicussing this plan Allied Forces decided it wouldn't work and also it would result in the death of many innocent casualities. They had plan to bomb a majority of Germany's middle eastern cities. -
D-Day (Normandy Invasion)
Allies Forces landed on Normandy by the beachside. It was part of operation overload. Allies had planned this operations many months which part of an Operation called Overlord. They had defeated the Germany Army and the end of World War Two seemed closer. -
Battle of Bulge
This battle was iconic because it prove that Allies could fight against a strong turn of events though the odds were not in their favor. The Germany Army had lead a suprise attack in hopes of splitting the allies so their army would weaker but the Allies were able to fight against it. In return this weakened the German Army greatly. -
Battle of Iwo Jima
This battle was between Americans and the Japanese Imperialist Army. Americans were in depersate need of port on Japan's coast. Which resulted in a war between the US and Japan. After a month of fighting Americans was able to set the American Flag into Japan's coast. -
Battle of Okinawa (Operation Iceberg)
This operation resulted in many casualties from both sides. American troops planned to target Air Stations that were vital to Japanese troops but this eighty-two day campain only resulted in major loss for everyone. -
VE Day (Victory Day in Europe)
This is day is celebrateded in European Countries as a public holiday. It was the day Nazis surrendered and gave up power to the Allies. -
Japanese invade China
Japan invades China to gain enomical resources for their country. This Sino-Japnese happned on July 7 in the year of 1945. Japan already developed plans two expan their miltary power on outside countries. Many asian people in general died from the impact of this war. -
Dropping of the Atomic Bombs
The US Army decided and debated whether to drop the Atomic Bomb on Japan. It was the first atomic ever made and also dropped in the history. This proved to show a dark side of war and how much damage can be done. The bombs were dropped on Hiroshami and Nagaski. -
VJ Day
This was the day that World War Two was officially concluded. This included a great celebration in America also a ceremony in Tokoyo on the US Missouri. Japan had finally surrendered.
