    War on Serbia
    The spark that set off conflict and resulted in war, was when a Serbian nationalist assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand, (heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne). Austria Hungary declares war on Serbia.
  • War on Russia

    War on Russia
    The two great European powers of Germany and Russia declare war on each other. When one European power after the other, became drawn into conflict, it became known as World War I.
  • War on France

    War on France
    Germany declares War on France. Germany was a part of the Central Powers, and France was a part of the Allies. These two big powers were now in conflict with each other.

    Battle of the Argonne Forest included Germany army, losing the power to fight and the Allied blockade making it hard for American entry into the war.
  • Armistice

    The head of the German government sent Wilson a note requesting an armistice based on the Fourteen Points on October 6, 1918. The armistice then took place on November 11th, and the loads of fighting that had come with WWI had finally ended.
  • Battle of Verdun

    Allied forces pushed farther along to pursue the battle of Verdun. More than one million American soldiers advanced on fortified German positions and some German defenses crumbled under the assault.

    German delegates reluctantly signed the Treaty of Versailles. the Treaty of Versailles was one of the peace treaties after WWI. It guaranteed the end of the state of war between the Central and Allied powers.
