  • Japan Invades China

    Japan Invades China
    In 1937 Japan invaded China this is called the Second Sino-Japanese War. Japan was trying to increase territory which made China upset. The Japanese forces ran out of options to go against China, so they spread across Southeast Asia. Japan did this because they wanted to gain for land. This impacted Japan because it set them up for World War II. Link text

    Germany Invaded Poland
    In 1939 Germany invaded Poland the Polish Army was defeated within weeks. Germany invaded Poland to gain more territory. Hitler wanted the land for his superior race. The effect on this was the start of World War II. Link text

    Fall of Paris
    In 1940 Germany launched an invasion in Paris, France. Germany had used their secret attack name as "Code Yellow". They split out through the Ardennes forest and trapped Paris. This event led to D-Day which then helped the Allies win the war. Link text

    In 1941 Nazi, Germany invaded the Soviet Union this was named a secret code of Operation Barbarossa. This was the crucial turning point in World War II. The Germans crashed 3,000 tanks into soviet territory, which proved they had strong leadership. Once they reached Moscow they ran out of supplies and could not face the Russian Winter.     The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising was an act of resistance led by the Jewish, in the Warsaw Ghetto in Poland. The uprising began after German troops entered to deport all of the Jews to concentration camps. In the result of the uprising the ghettos and neighborhoods were destroyed. As a result, thousands of Jews were also killed.

    In 1944 the Battle of Normandy also know as D-Day had started. 156,00 Americans, British, and Canadian forces landed on five different beaches to try and liberate France from the Germans. Allies tricked the Germans about the actual invasion target. After that all of Northern France was liberated and the Allies had defeated the Germans. Link text

    In 1944 Germany attacked the Allies. They cut through a secret path in the woods spreading widely across the front. This had trapped the Allies, but they pushed through and restored the front and resulted in victory. Link text

    In 1945 Soviet Soldiers were first to liberate the camps. In July they had overran the Majdanek Camp and later on had overran other killing centers. Finally, in January the Soviet Soldiers had entered Auschwitz and found hundreds of sick and tired soldiers. This impacted all the Jewish people who got freed from the camps.
