    Japan's Invasion of China
    During this event, Japan moved south and seized control of most of eastern China and all of the major ports by the time war broke out in Europe. This invasion was caused by the Marco Polo Bridge Incident. What happened at the Bridge is not completely known, but there were casualties on both sides. After the invasion, Japan gained more control and power and began attacking many different Asia countries and territories.

    Rape of Nanking
    The Nanking Massacre was a mass surder committed by Japan troops against Nanjing in China. The Japanese waned to break the spirits of the Chinese people, so the General ordered Nanjing to be destryoed. Because of the attacks on China from Japan, like this one, resentment has grown between the two cultures that are still noticable today.

    German Blitzkrieg
    It was a war tactice that involved quick and surprising attacks. It was developed by Hans Guderian. Germans wanted to defeat their opponent in a very short time. They thought this tacitic of speed and coordinated movements would be the perfect solution. After the battle, German was able to conqure Poland, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands, Lexembourg, France, Ygoslavia, and the Greece.

    Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact
    This is the non-aggression treaty between German and the Union of Societ Sociallist Republics. The pact was made to prevent any violence between the countries in case of a war. It caused the neutrality of the Soviet Union in the beginning of the war before Germany broke the treaty by attacking Russia.

    Poland was invaded by Germany, the Soviet Union, and a small Slovak contingent. This marked the beginning of World War II. It lasted for a month and 5 days. Germans wanted to expand their control and beliefs throughout all of Europe. Some say this caused the beginning of the Second World War.

    Germany invaded the Soviet Union during World War II. This was the Code Name. It was a failed invasion. It was caused by Hitler's desire to conqure the Soviet territories. This caused Hitler to demand further operationos to conqure Soviet Union.

    Japan bombed a Military Base in Hawaii. They did this to prevent US from intervening in the war. But, the US did the complete opposite and declared war on Pearl Harbor

    Wannsee Conference
    This was a meeting of fourteen men representing the goernmental and military branchs who are involved in the Final Solution. They desired the externimation of all Jews in Europe. Heydrich, the leader/meeting holder, requested these men to make sure there was no confusion as to what everyone's duties were. Jews were transported to externimation camps.

    Bataan Death March
    Because of the large number of prisoners that were from the previous battle, the Japanese used a march as a way to "handle" the prisoners. The March was a transder of American and Philippino prisoners after the Battle of Bataan. Because of the heat and lack of food, many prisoners died before they could reach their destination.

    Allied bombing run in Hamburg, a German city. Destroyed thousans of German citizens. They did this for payback on the bombings in London. 242,600 civiliams were killed and 37,000 wounded. It destroyed the entire city.

    Battle of Stalingrad
    The Battle of Stalingrad was a major battle in World War II. The Alled forces and the Nazi Germans fought of control over the city of Stalingrad in the southwestern Soviet Union. The Germans had wanted to reduce the city into nothing but rubble. German's decided to destroy this city because of its industrial capacity. Because of the war, Germany's 6th Army was destroyed. It is also considered the European theatre of world War Two.

    Warsaw Ghetto Uprising
    During WWII, Polish Jews began resisting the Nazi Germans in Warsaw. Jews resisted because they had gained the knowledge of where the other Jews were taken and what the Germans were doing to them. By the end of the uprising, Warsaw was completely destroyed. A concentration camp was establshed in Warsaw.

    Allied launched an attack on Italy. Because of their victory in the North Africa campaign, they looked north towards Europe. The Allied won and there able to control Italy, hurting Germany ultimately.

    As German's continued to take over other parts of Europe, Great Britain and the US decided that Germany needed to be slowed down and their expansion needed to end. US military invaded Germany and bombed German Fortitications, communications and bridges This caused the Germans to have to battle two wars. Germany could not handle that and they lost soon after.

    An offensive attack against the Allied forces and caught them completely off gaurd. Hitler wanted the United States and Britain to sign a separate peace treaty, so he plamned an offensive attack designed to stabilize the situation after D-Day. It was considered one of the costiliest battles of World War II. German offensive capabilitiy in the West was destroyed.

    During the Operation Thurnderclap, the Allied forces bombied the city of Dresden in Germany. They did this to destroy more Germany land and spread chaos throughout Germany. This attacked destroyed the city and killed over 60,000 civilians.

    It was a battle where the United States Armed Forces battled Japan for the island Iwo Jima. The United States wanted a staging area for attacks on the Japanese main islands. The Amerians won.

    It was an assault made by World War II. It was part of the Island Hopping campaign. The Allies wanted to use Okinawa as a base for air operations on the planned invasion of Japanese mainland. Okinawa was occupied by the US until 1972
