    Blitzkrieg is a term for Lightning war. German first started to use this when they invaded Poland in 1939. They used this in order to create and disorganize the enemy forces with a lot of firepowers. This caused a lot of people to die.

    This was the German Invasion of France, this led to the fall of France.

    Operation Barbarossa was the code name for the invasion of the Soviet Union. This mission was a complete fail on the German part. The defeat of the Germans was a major turning point of the war.

    Pearl Harbor
    Pearl Harbor is a naval base in Hawaii. In 1941 Japan attacked and started to bomb the base. Japan did this because America was unhappy with the things Japan was doing with China and American was going to step in and do something if anything happened. Many lives were lost more than 20 American ships where damaged. After this event, America entered World War II.

    This conference was held by the Nazi party and they talked about the details of what they were going to do to the Jews. They discussed for a long time on what would be done to these people. This is a horrible event that was the beginging to ending lives.

    Bataan Death March was when thousands of Allied troops were sent to a POW camp in Japan. Thousands where tortured and killed. The Allies knew that this attack was coming and only MacAurthur was alowded to leave. Then his men were captured and were treadted inhumainly.

    The Allied invasion of Italy was a major game changer. This would be the base for the Red tails which made a major impact on the war. They did this to try to stop Mussolini and help the Italians.

    The allies had fanially learned about all the plans that the Nazis had with the Jewish people. They Liberated the camps and freeded many people, not as many that where lost. The Holocaust changed the world in a way that still impacts us today.

    On this day America and other Allies landed on Normandy. This was the turning point in the war on the western front. This is when the allies liberated the western front from Germany giving them an extra inch to winning the war

    This was when the allies where gaining land on the east and the west coast. Hitler tried to surprise them by attacking them. This was Hitler's last attempt to defeat the allies. The allies won the battle.

    This was a battle between the American Marines and Japan. The Marines invaded the island to get the base and weaken the army of Japan. This resulted in an American Victory.

    VE day is the day when the Allies won victory in Europe. This happened because the Allies were trying to win the war. Many people rejoiced and this truly was the beginning on the end for the Nazi region. The only power left to get rid of was Japan and everyone on the pacific.

    The Potsdam Declaration gave Japan an option. They could agree to America's terms or suffer the consequences. They were forced to surrender, ending the war.
