The Japanese invaded Manchuria and continued to brutally attack China. Japan wanted more land for their country and they thought the only way how was to take it by force. This lead to the United States imposing economic sanctions on Japan. Also Japan joined the Axis powers.

Germany invades Poland to feed their power hungry ruler. The Germans wanted Poland back ever since WWI. The invasion triggers the start of WWII as Britian and France both declare war on Germany.

InfoGerman Blitzkrieg was the new style of warfare used during WWII. Bllitzkrieg meant a short war but than later came to be known as a tactic of combined-arms and rapid manuever. This warfare lead to Germany's quick take over of Poland and other victories.

Germany invades France using two mobile operations. France signed an armistice with Germany, which gave the German occupation the northern part of the country and allowed the establishment of a collaborationist regime in the south with its seat in the city of Vichy. This lead to the takeover of Belgium and the Netherlands.

Operation Barbosa was an invasion of the Soviet Union by the Germans and thier alles. At first the invasion was quite succesful but eventually the Soviets halted the Germans which lead to their retreat. This lead to Soviet advancemnt into German territory.

Japanese bombers enter American territory and unload upon the U.S. naval carriers sitting in port. The plan was to cripple the U.S. fleet but they had failed. They did succeed however on pissing off the U.S. and giving president Roosevelt an oppurtunity to join the war.

The Wannsee Conference was the meeting of Nazi officials to decide and ensure the final solution to the jews. The solution was that most of the jews would be deported to Poland and murdered. This was the start of the extermination process for the jews.

The Bataan Death March was the forced transfer of Flipino and American war prisoners by the Japanese. Marchers that couldnt keep up were killed. Many of the prisoners died before reaching the destination. News of the march reached the U.S. and this unfuriated the U.S.

In the battle of Midway, American planes suprised the Japanese ships by finding them first and destroying 4 of their carriers. Midway is known as the turning point of the war because it showed that the Japanese could be defeated.

The Battle of Stalingrad was a major battle between the Soviets and Germany for control of the city Stalingrad. Germany demolished most of the city with many bombings but this battle was won by the Soviets. This was the turning point in the war as Germans never fully recovered to the lost.

Operation Gomorrah was the raid of British and American bombers in Hamburg, Germany. The British struck at night while the Americans attacked during the day. This lead to 1,500 German civilian deaths.

Operation Thunderclap was the bombing of one of Germany's most beautiful cities. The British Royal Air force and the United States Air force flew over Dresden and dropped many arrarys of bombs upon the city. This destroyed countless numbers of buildings throughout and the death count ranged from 25,000-35,000.

The western allies needed to start another front against Germany to take pressure off the Soviet Union. The allies invaded the coast of France and began their pursuit through the obstacles. The invasion gave the allies complete air superiority. Eventually clearing Normandy, they continued to Paris and Germany.

The Battle of the Bulge started with a suprise attack by the Germans. They managed to take out ot american divisions. Leaders ordered troops forward creating a bulge 50 miles wide and 70 miles deep into the American lines. This lead to the halt and retreat of the Germans.

Iwo Jima was an island containing 3 japanese airfields. Taking over this island was key for the U.S. to continue their path to other islands. The terrain was rough but the U.S. prevailed only taking 300 of the 21,000 japanese defenders as prisoners.

The Battle of Okinawa was the last and biggest battle of the Pacific island battles. The Japanese set up a strong defense to try and hold off the U.S. Generals on both sides end up dying in this bloody battle.
