    The second Sino Japanese war was a conflict between china and japan. China had the economical help of Germany, Soviet Union, British Empire, and the United States. 10-25 million Chinese and about 4 million Chinese and Japanese military personnel dying from war related violence.

    The Rape of Nanking is known as the event when Japanese soldiers killed and raped many Nanjing during the second sino-japanese war. The massacre lasted six weeks starting when Japan captured Nanjing. The Japanese imperial Army murdered an estimated 40,000-300,000 Chinese civillians and unarmed combantants.

    Blitzkrieg (or lighting war) was a series of fast attacks on enemy forces in order to conquer them as fast as possible. They would have fast attacks so that the enemy could have a hard time to organize attacks and then the would have their tanks wide open to destroy anything in their path. Then the planes would prevent resupplying and more disorganization.

The opperation sent four million troops into the Soviet Union which was the largest invasion force in the history of warfare.

    Pearl Harbor was the surprize attack on the U.S. by the Imperial Japanese Navy. This attack is the one that led the U.S. to World War II. Japan did that attack because they did not want the U.S. to interfere with their military operations. There was 353 planes to bomb the U.S. ships and they damaged all eight of them and sunk four of them.

    The wannsee conference was a meeting of all the senior officials of Nazi Germany that was held in Berlin suburb of wannsee. The purpose of the meeting was for all of them to finally agree of the final solution to the Jewish question. Which was all the Jewish people were to be sent to Poland and killed.

    Operation Gomorrah is when british bombers would invade Germany. This date the british dropped 2,300 tons of incendirary bombs on Hamburg in just a couple hours. That was more bombs than the Germany's top 5 raids combined. The biggest raid and more than 1,500 german civilians were killed.

    D-Day is the day that 160,000 Allied troops invaded Nazi Germany. 5,000 Ships and 13,000 Aircrafts followed as well. More than 9,000 people were killed or wounded, but the sacrifice allowed 100,000 soldiers to defeat Hitler.

However this operation was never done because they thought it wouldn't really work. It came back again in 1945, but they decided again that it wouldn't work.

    The Battle of the Bulge was the major German offensive attack by the end of World War II in Europe. The surprize attack caught the Allies off guard. The United States suffered from this attack and this battle had the highest casualities for any operation during the war. German personnel, also sustained heavy losses.
  • Battle of Iwo Jima

    Battle of Iwo Jima
    Battle of Iwo Jima was one of the major battles of World War II in which the U.S. captured the island Iwo Jima from the Japanese Imperial Army. The objective of this was so that the U.S. had easier attacks on the Japanese main islands. It took five weeks to succesfully conquer the island. In the end it was useless of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy, so they rebulit the landing strips and used it as an emergency landing strips.

    The Battle of Okinawa, codenamed operation Iceburg was a series of battles fought in the Ryukyu Islands it was the largest amphibious assault during the Pacific War. The war lasted 82 days from April 1st to the 22nd of June. The Allies were quickly moving to Japan and they planned to use this Island to use it as a base for air operations. They did end up invading the Japanese sucsessfully.

    VE Day or Victory in Europe day is a public holiday celebrated on May 8th 1945 and this day marks the formal aceptance by the allies of World War II of Nazi Germany's unconditional surrender to it's armed forces.

    There were two atomic bombs dropped the first one was dropped in Hiroshima and was nicknamed Little Boy. Little Boy was reposible for killing about 200,000 people alone. Then the second one was nicknamed Fat Man and was dropped in Nagasaki. Fat Man had the same casualties as Little Boy and some say that it helped to end the war.

    VJ-day is the day that president Truman declared to be the celebration of the surrender of Japan. On August 15, 1945 was when they heard that Japan was going to surrender. September 2nd was when they had an official ceromony to surrender
