  • Rape of Nanking

    In 1937 over a period of six weeks, imperial Japanese forces murdered over thousands of people including soldiers and civilians. Between 20,000 to 80,000 women where sexually assulted. Nanking was left in ruins and was said that it would take decades for the citizens to recover from such savage attack from the Japanes and yet there has not been any justice served for those.

    Germany invaded Poland all along its 1,750 miles border, simultaneously, they boomed Polish aircraft, and the naval forces in the Baltic sea. France and Britan were not convinced by Hitler when he claimed it was a defensive action. On September 3, war was declared on Germany.

  • Pearl Harbor

    Japan launched a surprise attack on the American naval base Pearl Harbor located by Honolulu, Hawaii. The attack only lasted to lasted two hours but was every devastating. More then 2,000 Americans soldiers and sailors died. 1,000 more were wounded. After that day President Franklin D. Roosevelt asked to declare war on Japan. Days later Japans allies declared war on the United States. Which is when America finally decided to join World War II
  • Battle of midway

    Six months after the Pearl Harbor attack the US defeated Japan in one of the most overriding battles. All thanks to major advances of code breaking the US was able to find out what Japan's attack plan was and counter Japans plan to ambush the remaining aircraft carriers of the US.
  • Operation Gomorrah

    On this day British bombers raid Hamburg, by night and Americans bombed it by day. This came to be know as the "Blitz Week". Britain suffered the death of 167 civilians so now the tables have turned the British dropped 2,300 tons of explosives on Hamburg resulting in more then 1,500 German civilians were killed in the British bombing raid. That was the priced paid by the Nazi's for bombing the British.

  • Liberation of concentration camps

    Soviet soldiers where the very first to liberate concentration camps. On July 23, 1944 they entered Majdank camp in Poland and liberated the prisoners and other camps in the area. On January 27, 1945, the camp of Auschwitz was liberated as well where they found thousands of sick and exhausted prisoners even children.

    The Death march was where approximately 75,000 Filipino and American troops were forced to march 65-miles to there own death or death camps in server conotions and treatment. There were only three troops who escaped from the death march and made it back to the US to notify them of what was going on.
