German troops marched into Austria unopposed. A day later, Germany announced a "Anschluss" or union with Austria. -
Munich Agreement
Hitler announced to French premier Edouard Daladier and British Neville Chamberlain that Sudetenland would be his last "territorial demand".Therefore, Daladier and Chamberlain signed the Munich agreement, which turned over Sudetenland to Germany. -
Ceased to Exist
German troops attacked Czechoslovakia. At nightfall Hitler gloated, "Czechoslovakia has ceased to exist." -
Never Again
Facist Germany and communist Russia agreed to never attacked eachother. Germany and the Soviet Union also signed a secret pact to never attack eachother again. -
Attack on Poland
The German Air Force attacked Poland, raining bombs on military bases, airfields, and cities. -
War
Britain and France declared war on Germany. -
Surprise
Hitler launches a surprise invasion on Denmark and Norway.
