Lightning War (Germany Blitzkrieg)
Germany's stragety was to defeat their enemy fast and in short battles. This stragety worked for more than two years. The tactic that the used was called Blitzkrieg. Germanys Invasion of Poland
Adolph Hitler led Germany into Poland and invaded Poland. Hitler did this so he could bring Lebensraum (living space). Ib On September 3, 1939 Poland, France, and Britain declared War on Germany, starting World War II. The Polish army was defeated almost right away. Germany had over 2000 tanks and 1000 planes that helped attack Warsaw. Warsaw then surrendered on September 27th, 1939. -
Fall Of Paris
After being at war with Germany for 9 months, there was little to no fighting. Some may have called it the phoney war. But on MAy 10th 1940, Germany invaded France and the lower countries. This all happened so Germany could get more land and rule more countries. The outcome of this Germany Surprised attacked them, going through the Ardennes Forest and took down alot of the french lines, by them not being prepared. On June 14th Capital Fell. -
Auschwitz
Auschwitz was a concentration camp that the Nazis used. It was one of the largest death camps out. More than 2 million Jews were killed in this camp, either by gas, starvation, shot, or disease It's located near Oswiecim, Poland. On January 27th, 1945, Soviet troops over took Auschwitz and and stopped this tragity. They found 7 tons of human hair,43,000 pairs of shoes. Only 200,000 prisoners survied -
Operation Barbarossa
Barbarossa was the largest militarty attack during World War II. The attack happend at 3:00 Sunday morning against Russia. Germany and its allies had 3 million soldiers.The three large Germany Army groups : Army Group North, Army Group Centre, and Army Group South. Pearl Harbor
Sunday morning Japanese bombed the American naval base in Oahu Hawaii. Over 3500 Americans were killed or wounded over a course of 2 hours. All 8 battle ships there were either badly damaged or destroyed.The next day the devestaded nation gathered around their radios to hear President Roosevelt deliver his speech. Wannsee Conference
This was a conference of th 15 high ranking Nazi Party and German Government Officials in a suburb of Berlin. During this conference Hitler finalized his plan to murder the Jews. They also talked about camps and other plans to capture and keep Jews. -
Bataan Death March
American and Filipino soldiers held out to the Japanese soldiers to remain controll of their islan. Japan at this time controlled all pacific island but Phillipines. During this, Japan had captured about 75,000 American and Filipino soliders, and was one of the worst modern war atrocities to date. Many starved and died due to Japanese stoped many ships from reaching American bases -
Battle Of Midway
The Battle of Midway is coinsidered one of the most important Navy battles to date. Japanese plan was to attack and would then make it easier to attack Hawaii later on, by making a base there. Warsaw Ghetto
The warsaw ghetto, was a square mile wide that held almost 400,000 jews at one point. Over course of time the number of people went down , due to starvation, disesase, or deathcamps. Nazis wanted to kill and destroy these ghettos, when they arrived many jews had weapons and killed and actually thought they had won, when the germans pulled out. A while later a bigger German force came in and torched buildings, went into hospitals and shot everyone, simply they eliminated the ghetto. (more) -

D-Day
150,000 Allied soldiers landed on the shores of Normandy. By June 11th, the beachheads were secured. The allies had this plan secretly and craftly planned out. They were going to follow this plan no matter what the weather would be. Germany surrendered on May 8th,1945.

This battle happened in the most poorly roaded and rugged forest in Germany. It was one of the most deadliest battles . During the battle German had a shortage of fuel and supplies and thats when american forces came in and defeated the Germans

Battle of Iwo Jima
American invaded Iwo Jima, an island in Japan. United States attacked it by 3 marine divisions and navy troops with bombs . It happened because America wanted revenge on the Japanese for Pearl Harbor. The outcome of it was that we won the batlle.
