  • Assassination Of Franz

    The Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir tp the throne of Austria-Hungary empire. This ignited the spark of the beginning of the war.

  • Christmas Truce

    Unofficial truce declared by soldiers. Both sides began singing and eventually soldiers filled "No mans land" and began a small soccer game. For a short period of time both sides got along.

  • Germans Begin Using Poison Gas

    First use of poison gas by German troops causing second war of Ypres.

  • Sinking of the Lusitania

    U-boat sinks the Lusitania, with loss of many American lives causing a German-US diplomatic crisis.

  • Serbian Exile

    Austria-Germany-Belgium forces invade Serbia.They over power and Exile the Serbian army.

  • Battle Of Jutland

    Recorded as the largest naval battle over the course of the war. Ultimately it had no clear victor.

  • Introduction of Tanks

    During the battle of Somme, tanks are introduced for the first time by the German army.

    The first US troops arrive in France and become the very first division.

    President Woodrow Wilson agrees to interveen and help Serbia.
