Japanese invasion of China
Chinese weren't getting along with the Japanese which escalated to a huge conflict. Russia persuaded the KMT to work with the CCP to fight against the Japanese. The Chinese were getting lots of help from America, Russia, England, and even Germany was helping China until they finaly signed a treaty with Japan.

Battle of Britain
After defeating France the Nazi's only had the British in their way from conquering the whole world. It is one of the largest airborne battle during WW2. This went on from the summer of 1940 to the fall of 1940. Britain's RAF fighters succesfully defended against the German invaders. When Adolf was deafeated by the Britsh defense he gave up on trying to conquer the UK Islands.

Operation Barbarossa
Adolf Hitler launches a large invasion on the Soviet Union. The German were weared down by the horrible weather condition. The soviet union attacked the weary German soldiers which forced the German to retreat. The German lost horribly to the Soviet Union.

Pearl Harbor
Hundreds of Japanese planes attack the naval base Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Hawaii. This lasted for two hours. America lost 20 naval vessels and 300 planes, they also lost 2,000 men and 1,000 injured.

Battle of Midway
In this battle the Americans were outnumbered and out muscled by the Japanese navy. Japan planned t distract the American navy up in a little island by Alaska so the Americans would split their navy, but the Americans broke the Japanese naval codes and knew the plan. So they got all their troops ready for the Japanese navy. The Japanese lost this battle they had many casualties such as losing 3 carriers while US only lost one.

Battle of Stalingrad
this was a battle where the Soviet union succesfully defended Stalingrad from the Nazi's. It was the bloodiest battle during WW2 and also the turning point of the wa for the Allies. The U.S.S.R. stop the Nazi's from advancing through Russia around 2 million died in this war.

Allied invasion of Italy
Dictator Musoulini has been trying gain power during WW2 but was defeated by the allies many times. People were planning to over throw him but German troops were sent in Italy. Operation Gomorrah
British bombs Hamburg, Germany in the night while the Americans bombed in the morning. 791 planes only lost 12 planes. Dropped 2,300 tons of incendiary bombs in jus few hours. 1,500 german citezens died. Britian confused German radars by using new tactic called window they drop aluminum foil from plane to mess with the German radars.

D-Day (Normandy Invasion)
About 158,000 Canadians, Bristish, and American troop invaded Normandy with casualties of 4,000. They tricked the Germans that they were going to attack somewhere else but attacked at Normandy, France where they begin to liberate French citezens and putting supplies and more men in Normandy.

Battle of the Bulge
Adolf attemted to seperate the allies in the NorthWest by using blitzkrieg. It worked for the Germans. Allies were force back to fight in a large bulge thus the battle was named for. They battled for a while but neither side really gained anything. It ended up being a tie.

Dropping of the atomic bombs
American B-29 dropped first atomic bomb in Hiroshima which destroyed 90% of the city and 80,000 people were killed. Later They dropped another atomic bomb in Nagasaki which killed 40,000 people. Which forced their Emperor Hirohito to surrender.
