    Germany invaded Poland September 1, 1939. Hitler had decided to take control over Poland to be able to have a head start and higher position as they are ready to go into war. The effect of this was World War 2.

    This event was on September 1, 1939. Germany was trying to avoid the war. Then there were signs that their was going to be one. Germany sought to do many things to win. Blitzkerg means "lighting war". The "lighting war" was when the Germans mistreated many from Poland. Poland did not see it coming at all.

    Operation Barbarossa was on June 22, 1941. The name was the code name for Nazi Germany's during World War II invasion against the Soviet Union. Hitler wanted to get Soviet territories and be able to defeat them in the beginning.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor was on December 7, 1941. That was when the Japanese had a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. Which ended up U.S. bombing them afterwards.

    D-Day was on June 6, 1944. That was when allied troops had invaded the beaches of Germany controlled France. It was done to be able to get ahead of Hilter. Many people had died because of this.

    January 1945. The Soviets liberated Auschwitz. It was the largest concentration camp.
  • Battle of Iwo Jima

    The Battle of Iwo Jima took place in Febuary 19, 1945. It was when Americans took offensive against the Japanese. Needed Japanese to take over the mainland. It was useless because many were lost and the atomic bombs took care of that.

    VE Day was on May 8, 1945. It is a public holiday celebrated. That was the Germany had surrendered it's armed forces.

    The Potsdam Declaration was on July 26, 1945. It was when the Japanese surrender.

    There were two bombs (Fat Man and Little Boy). Fat Man was dropped on Nagasaki and Little Boy was dropped on Hiroshima. Many people had died.

    VJ Day was on August 15, 1945. That was when the news that Hitler had surrendered was announced to the world. Many celebrations were held.

    The Battle of Bulge was on December 16, 1945. It was a huge German offensive that cought the troops not ready and many had died. Germsny hhad tried to get back but we're unsuccessful at it.
