    Germany invades Poland
    German forces attacked Poland on land and from the air. While adolf was trying to be sneaky and rule Poland. Once Hitler had control in the target country, he destroyed all enemies. Poland fired back, but hade many miscalculations. The Polish forces barely had enough equipment and they attempted to take the Germans head-on with horsed cavaliers. They did at least try to do something instead of backing down. Later on, they couldnt handle it.

    The French left Paris, stating it an open city. This allows the Germans to enter the French capital. This is the final straw that the French lests them invade. The French government calls on the Germans for peace. They want to stop fighting. After they signed the Armistice, it states that the two thirds of France is to be occupied by the Germans and there army is disbanded.

    The Germans apportion to almost 150 divisions containing a total of about 3,000,000 men. Among these 19 panzer divisions, Barbarossa force had about 3,000 tanks, 7,000 artillery pieces, and 2,500 aircraft. Even though the Soviet Union had more equipment then Germany, there stuff were old-fashioned type. The Germans had better chances then Soviet Union.

The reason why they attacked on a sunday is because most people are less alert that day of the week. The Japanese damaged about 200 aircrafts and about eight huge battleships. After that, President Roosevelt declared war on Japan.

    aircraft. The United States lost about 307 men, 1 carrier, 1 destroyer, and over 100 aircraft.

    Japanese troops landed on Guadalcanal on July 6, 1942, to construct an airfield there.The Japanese forces had about 36,000 troops by October, but they were overwhelm with he Americans’ defensive perimeter. The United States had more rienforcement than the Japanese since they landed there. Than the Japanese were outnumbered and were force to leave.

    D-Day means the day on which the Allied forces invaded France during World War II. What resulted in the D-Day is the Battle of Normandy. This invasion was one of the largest military assaults in history. This required alot of planning. Allies did a large-scale, designed to mislead the Germans about the intended invasion target.The following spring the Allies had defeated the Germans.

    The German army launched a counteroffensive that was intended to cut through the Allied forces. It was in Hitler's favor. The courage and fortitude of the American Soldier was tested. They were tested with great diversity. What started this war was, Hitler believed that it wasn't enough attacking France, Britian and France. To his thought, it would break up the alliance. The Germans created a bulge in the Allied front line, thats were they got the name. It ended January 25th 1945.

    The battle didn't last for one day, nor two. It lasted 36 days. February 19th-March 26th,1945. When the Americans attacked Iwo Jima, they needed a base for the Japanese coast. There were three U.S. marine divisions. On the other hand, Japan had about 23,000 soldiers from the navy and army troops. They were using the underground installations such as caves, tunnels and etc. The Americans won.

    U.S. launch a new bomb against Japan, dropping 2,000 tons of flammable bombs on Tokyo. Between 80,000 and 130,000 Japanese civilians were killed. When the U.S bombed there land, they got what they probably wanted because the light industries that were called shadow factories consisted of war materials. The Japanese had barely time to react because they were unprepared. Only very little amount of people died from the U.S army/navy.

    This was one of the most intense battles ever in history. It was one of the bloodiest battles, as approximately 350,000 men on both sides were killed. When two Soviet army groups ttacked Berlin from the east and south thats when it all started. The Germans defences were bad use. Throughout the next days (keep in mind that this battle ended in May) Soviet were suffering heavy looses. Before the battle ended, a couple of his followers commiteed suicide.

    Great Britain and the United States celebrate Victory in Europe Day. They put out flags and banners, enjoying in the defeat of the Nazi. Germans surrendered after they had lost more than 8,000 soldiers. About 1 million Germans attempted a mass withdrawl to the West when the fight in Czechoslovakia ended. The Germans were stopped by the Russians and they took about 2 million prisoners in the period before and after the German surrender. More than 13,000 British prisoners of War were released.

    The U.S becomes the first nation to drop an atomic bomb (in Hiroshima). It's called the Enola Gay and over 80,000 were killed and 35,000 were injured. They had 200 doctors, but only 20 were left alive. There were 1,780 nurses, only 150 remained. Another thing is, Hiroshima had about 90,000 buildings, now they were left with 28,000.

    V-J Day was the day Japan surrendered unconditionally to the Allies. August 14th and 15th. Also on September 2, 1945 where they surrendered in the U.S.S. Missouri.
