Invasion of Rhineland
The German soldier walked right in. Hitler was expecting this. Most of the French didn't want another war and more bloodshed with what happened in WW1. -
Invasion of Austria
Germany invaded Austria first. No one died while the invasion was happening. Most Austrians did approve of Hitler taking over the country, and most liked it. No country found a need to help Austria and said that it wasn't worth fighting over. -
Looking at Czechoslovakia.
Many of the Sudetenland inhabitants like Hitler and his ideas. Hitler was trying to make them happy by taking the land. The Czechoslovakia then looked to France and Russia to protect them. France, Britain, Germany, and Italy made a pact that gave Hitler Sudenland but he couldn't demand for any other pieces of land. (not correct date, year is right) -
Roosevelt gives Danzig
Roosevelt had a meeting with Hitler over the threats of taking Poland. If he did it could create another world war. This meeting ended up with Hitler getting Danzig but he couldn't ask for any more European land. -
Mauthausen opens
Mauthausen was a smaller concentration camp in Austria. This was one of many horrible camps that the German people made to kill the Jews. It was a type three camps meaning it was the worst type of camp a prisoner could be sent to. -
Invasion of Poland
This is the official start of World War 2. Germany declared war on Poland. By doing so France and Britain both where dragged into war. Poland fell within four weeks. Before the invasion the Germans took Polish prisoners to Gleiwitz dressed them in Polish uniforms and were killed. This and the invasion was part of a revenge the Germans wanted after Gleiwitz was attacked. -
Austwizch is opened
Auschwitz the largest and one of the worst camps the Germans made. It is located in Southern Poland on the site of Brzezinka, a small Polish town. It consisted of an extermination camp and concentration camp. -
France is invaded (German)
France was the last stop on Germany's route to invade the west. France and the rest of Western Europe fell within six weeks. France did sign an agreement with Germany leaving some of France not under Hitler's full control. They did need to obey Hitler and follow the rules. The French didn't stop the Germans while they where still near the border. They hoped not to have another war. -
Attempt on Russia
Hitler told his commanders that they had one goal in this war to eliminate all of the inhuman races. He also told them they couldn't question his orders and must do them with full obedience. He told them to invade Russia. The army was followed by SS men who had to kill who was an enemy of state. -
Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor was an attack against the U.S from Japan. The Japanese navy attacked the U.S bass at Pearl Harbor. No one had seen this attack coming and it got the U.S involved in WW2. -
Russiani nvasion fails / U.S enters WW2
The invasion was a fail. The Russian didn't turn on their country nor did the civilians like Hitler had expected they would. The Germans where the first army to leave.
The Americans where bombed in Pearl Harbor and declared war against Japan. The Japanese ambassador had asked that Hitler declare war on the U.S to help Japan. Hitler was advised not to but he wasn't going to shy from a fight and declared war. This united U.S, U.S.S.R and Britain against Germany -
D-Day
D-Day was one of the worst battles in WW2.The Allies including the U.S, England, Canada, and France all attacked the beaches. At 6A.M the attacking started. The Allies had come out victorious. This gave the Allies a strong enough footing to continue their road to Germany. -
Germany surrenders
WW2 is finally over in Europe. The signing takes place in Berlin. Hitler did not sign the documents since he had already committed suicide. This agreement was broken by some of the German commanders who later attempted to re-capture Austria. -
Japan surrenders
Japan finally surrenders finishing WW2. This is the official end though for many when Germany surrendered it was the end. The treaty of San Francisco was a harsh treaty on Japan. This comes after the U.S used the two nuclear bombs on Japan.
