    Australia had to be invlolved in the war becasue they still had very strong ties to England.The nature of this warfare was very brutal due to the trench systems in Turkey. Mustard Gas was a new discovery in this time and used very frequently. The result of the Gallipoli campaign in 1914 was very gut wrenching becasue the ANZAC's were defeated, The Australian troops had to sneak out of Turkey on ships in the middle of the night.

    The reason for the Gallipoli campaign was beacause the British wanted to capture the Ottoman Empire Capital. Other reasons included the need to secure Britans trading route with Russia. Once the Australian troops returned home many things were different due the the massive amount of deaths during the campaign. It effected Australia because what was once known as the new nation was now seen in war.
