The convention was held in a chapel in New York. 300 people, both men and women, attended the convention. In the end, about 68 women and 32 men signed he Declaration of Sentiments.

Nearly 1,000 men and women attended to discuss unequal treatment that women had to endure. The convention contiuned anually.

The NAWSA was the combination of the NWSA and the AWSA. Memebership was around 7,000 people, however, this eventually grew to 2 million.

First state to pass a women's suffrage law, Colorado allows women the right to vote. In 1894, a few women were elected into legislature. Other states followed suit.

Congress proposed the 19th Amendment in June of 1919. This amendment prohibits any citizen of the United States from being denied the right to vote based on their sex.

The amendment was ratified, however, certain states, mostly in the South, took longer to ratify it.
