Philosophy: Holism, Essentialism, and Historicism
In this philosophy, he explained that the needs of a certain group, city, state, or race should not supersede the needs of the individual people. For example, the Nazis believed that they were killing Jewish people to help keep the Aryan race alive when in reality they were brutalizing and murdering innocent Jewish people to help a fascist dictator. His philosophy went on to explain that the institutions of the state should always work in the best interest of the people. -
Philosophy & Book: The Poverty of Historicism
This philosophy contained 2 arguments.
1. People cannot predict what they will know in the future so we cannot predict the future. The universe is open and the actions we take may not impact what happens in the future.
2. Laws that govern the direction history will move in do not exist, therefore history cannot be predicted. Even if history played out a certain way in a certain situation one time, it does not mean it will play out the same way again even in the same situation.
