Melba is born
Melba was born on December 7th in 1941. Melba was nine pounds and while giving birth Melba's scalp was damaged. Melba grew with an infection and needed surgery right away! but did not get better right away. -
The Supreme Court
When Melba was in the seventh grade and was twelve years old, the supreme court which is ruled in "Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas" -
Melba was hurt for the first time
When Melba was dismissed from school early a white man came chasing after Melba calling her mean things like nigger, once he caught up with her he stripped her of some of her clothes and tried to rape her but she escaped thanks to a friend. -
Melba signs up
The teacher asked her class if anyone wanted to go to Central High School and Melba had signed up to attend Central High with a lot of White students. -
Melba enters at Central High
The nine students try to enter school at Central High School but was being threatened by many people and almost hurt so many times. -
Melba Begins School
Melba and the rest of the eight students try to start school at Central High, but she was constantly being attacked by a mob who would not let her inside the school and were screaming very hurtful things. -
Melba has a body guard
Melba is extremely grateful for the soldiers who are there to protect her especially Danny who is her body guard and helps Melba through the whole time that he is there. -
Minnijean is expelled.
Minnijean is expelled after she had a hearing that took over forty minutes long and many people like Melba were so sad and very angry but tried to be there for Minnijean. -
Melba is saved!
Andy a school bully plans to attack Melba and wants to try and hurt her but later on a kid named Link helps her escape and to try and get away from Andy by him letting her use his car to get away. -
Marriage
Melba finally got married to Matthew Beals and they lived a nice life until they got divorced ten years later because he would not support her dream but they had one daughter.
