    Vivian goes to preschool part-time to interact with other infants and has two loving, attentive parents at home.
    Since Vivian receives the care she needs as a young infant (i.e. parents and caregivers respond when she cries) like being fed, bathed, and changed when needed.   • Vivian is a little over two years (2y 6mo) and has began toilet training. Over time and repetition Vivian learns to control her body and use the bathroom with no accidents. Vivian is very proud and shows many signs of wanting to do more things on her own.

    Vivian has learned how to use the potty and this is a huge milestone for Vivian because she has learned how to control her body and has begun to develop independence, At this stage: Eriksons stage 2 Autonomy vs. shame and doubt it's especially important for toddlers to attempt to do things on their own to gain a sense of independence and control.     Vivian joins a dance camp and is eager to learn, explore and see what she can accomplish.
    Vivian is surrounded by people in her life that encourage exploration and curiosity therefore she develops a sense of initiative and wants/ is eager to try new things and explore her abilities. Erickson's stage 3 Initative vs, Guilt is an important stage for preschool age children because according to Erickson if they fail to develop a sense of initative they may become fearful to try new things.
