He painted this painting in the Netherlands. He worked on this painting from April 13th to the beginning of May. Van Goph said he wanted to depict peasants as they really were; so he created this painting. -

When Vincent van Goph painted "Sunflowers", he was living with his brother in Paris. There is not much information about Vincent van Goph while he was there; however, we can tell by the sunflowers that this painting was painted in the spring. It is also oil on canvas. -
