Invasion of Cambodia
Nixon upset "doves" by invading neutral Cambodia. There were mass protests around the country due to his decision. -
Kent State Massacre
Students were protesting the invasion of Cambodia by setting fire to a ROTC building. Reinforcements were sent it to maintain peace, but four shots were fired. -
Pentagon Papers are Published
Articles published in the New York times claiming the US government lied to their citizens. An example of this was that they said the Vietnam bombing of a US navy boat did not occur in the Gulf of Tonkin.
