Dreamcast was the first console to introduce online gaming. Dreamcast was released October 14, 1999 in North America. It was created by Sega, and later on became a flop so Sega never made another console and just makes games. -

The PS3 was the first console that could use blu ray. The PS3 was made by Sony and was released November 11, 2006
