  • French and Indian War

    The war between Britain and France ended with Britian being in a lot of debt because the war lasted 9 years. They wanted more income from the colonies and with the French defeated, you didn't want to count on the British because the colonies became less dependent on them for there protection of the colonies.
  • Sugar Act

    In this act, merchants were required to pay a six cent tax per gallon on the importation of molasses. Then they undercut taxes because they thought the English product would be cheaper then the French Indian product.
  • Stamp Act (Continued)

    The colonists targeted there anger by the creating of the Stamp Act. It was basically Parliament vs. Colonists.
  • Stamp Act Congress

    The Stamp Act created by the British Parliament in 1756 demanded revenue from the American Colonies. They did this by putting a stamp duty on newpapers and legal/commercial documents. The colonial objection was let to the act's repeal in 1766. They want representation and they got into fights and riots, along with starting a boycott. We show unity today through our government, after everyone gathered together to organize the boycott, then they made a Stamp Act Congress.
  • The Townshed Revenue Act

    These taxes were applied to help make the colonial officials independent of the colonists. These included duties on glass, paper, and tea. Smugglers increased their activites so they can avoid the the leading to more troops in Boston.
  • Trail of Boston Massacre

    There was this boy in the middle of the streets trying to confuse people yelling, "Where's the fire!" and] was facing the civilians, then the church bell rang out for the alarm. At the Custom House there was ice and rocks being thrown along with making the soldiers angry, so they were waiting for there commander to say fire and when he finally did they killed 5 people along with wounding 6.
  • Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre was a street fight. This fight was between the "patriot" mob and a squad of British Soldiers. They would throw snowballs, stones, and sticks. Colonists were being killed and led to a campaign.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The American Patriots dressed up as Mohawk Indians. They boarded the Vessesl of the East Indian Company that was docked in the Voston Harbor. These American Patriots dumped all of the tea that was on the three ships into the ocean, destroying the tea.
  • Battles of Lexington and Concord
