  • Proclamation of 1763

    The proclamation did not allow colonist to settle west of the Appalachian Mountains. The British government could not afford to pay British troops

  • Suger act

    The Sugar Act caused the sugar, molasses, and other prodects shipped to the colonies to be taxed. Their would be a harsh punishment to sumugglers.
  • Quartering act

    British soldiers came to people's house and the people gave British soldiers supplies and food.
  • Townshend acts

    The Parliament passed a law that suspended New York's assembly and established taxes on goods brought into the British colonies.
  • Boston tea party

    The Sons of Liberty organized a Boston Tea Party. On December 16, 1773, a group of men disguised as Native Amercians went to three ships and destroyed the tea.
  • Intloeerable acts

    The Intolerable acts caused the Parliament to punish the Massachusetts colony.
  • Olive branch petition

    on 1775 the Congress passed a committe to draft a letter to the king. Thomas Jefferson wrote the first draft. Then later the letter was given to the Congress. The letter became know as the Olive Petition. The Olive Branch beacame known as a symbol of peace.

    The Congress committe to draft a Declarartion of Independence. The Declaration of Independence declared the independence from Britain
