  • Proclamation of 1763

    This proclamation did not allow colonists to settle west of the Appalachian Mountains. The Birtish government feared the conflict between colonists and Native Americans would lead to another war. They also could not afford to pay British troops to defend the western lands. Colonists were enraged by this proclamation because they felt they had won the right to settle in the Ohio River Valley after winning the French and Indian War.

  • Ouartering Act 1765

    The Quartering Act was a cost-saving measure that required the colonies to quarter british soilders and provide them with supplies. This act was passed by Parliament in 1765 help save money to take care of the troops.
  • Stamp Act 1765

    The Stamp Act required all legal and commercial documents to carry on official stamp showing that a tax had been paid. This law was passed by Parliament in 1765 to raise money to pay off the dept of the war.
  • Townshend Acts 1767

    The Townshend Acts were a serious of events passed by the parliament in 1767 reating to the british colonies in north america. The purpose of this was to raise revenue in the colonies to pay the salaries of governers and judges so that they would be independent of colonial rule.
  • Tea Act and Boston Tea Party 1773

    The Tea Act put a tar on tea, and only let you buy tea from only one company. This caused the Boston Tea Party that was done to show that they didnt like the acts.
  • Battles of Lexington and Concord 1775

    The Battle of lexington and concord were the first battles of the Revolutionary war. Also the first shot colonies fired was known as "the shot heard around the world". And how the americans had to pick their sides.
  • Olive Branch Petition 1775

    The patition that was sent to the king asked him to restore the peace and harmony between the colonies and england. "The kinf rejected it and announced new measures to punish the colonies".
