  • Proclamation of 1763

    This proclamation did not allow colonists to settle waest of the Appalachian Mountains. The British government feared the conflict between colonist and Native Americans would lead to another war. They also could not afford to pay British troops to defend the western lands. Colonists were enraged by this proclamation because they felt they had won the right to settle in the Ohio River Valley after winning the French and the Indian War
  • Quartering Act

    The Quartering Act was a law thet required colonist from all colonist to house and supply British soldiers. General Thomas Gage is the one in charge of putting troops in houses. he put the most toops in New York.
  • Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act is a law that required all legal and commercial documents to carry an offical stamp proving that a tax has been payed. The Stamp Act was passed in all colonies. Even publish material had to be written on special stamped paper.
  • Townshend Act

    The Townshend Act established a tax on goods brought into the colonies and suspended New Yorks assembly. The Townshend Act was a way to raise revenue. This act was Charles Townshend idea.
  • Tea Act and Boston Tea Party

    The Tea Act was a a way to prove to the colonist that British still had a right to tax the colonist. The Tea Act also said colonist could only buy tea from British companys only. This led to the Boston Tea Party, which is when a group of men dumped hundreds of tea into the Boston Harbor.
  • Olive Branch Petiton

    The Olive Branch Petition was a document that asked the king to restore harmony between British and the colonies. The king rejected instead he added new measures to punish the colonies. He used the British navy to block American ship from leaving their port and he sent thousands of German soldiers to fight America.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord were the firsy battles of the Revolutionary war. This battle started with a gun shot by the colonial troops. americans had to choose either to support British ,loyalist, or support the rebels ,partriots.
  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence is a document which the colonies declared independence from Britian. This comittee was made by Bejamin Franklin, John Adams, Roger Sherman, Robert Livingston and Thomas Jeffreson. on July 4, congress approved the Declaration of Independence.
