Proclamation of 1763
This proclamation did not allow colonists to settle west of the Appalachian Mountains. The British government feared the conflict between colonists and Native Americans would lead to another war. They also could not afford to pay British troops to defend the western settle in the Ohio River Valley after the French and Indian War. -

The Townshend Act were to raise revenue in the colonies to pay the governers and judges so they could be independent of the colonial rules. -

The Tea Act put taxes on tea and made colonists buy their tea from one place. The Boston Tea Party was a political protest by the Sons of Liberty. The colonists threw the tea into the Boston Harbor. -
Battles of Lexington and Concord
The Battles of Lexington and Concord were the first engagement of the American Revolutionary war. 500 militamen fought three companies of the kings troops. The first shots were fired at Lexington. -
Olive Branch Petition
The Olive Branch Petition was adopted by the Continental congress. They wanted to avoid a war with Great Britain. -
Declaration of Independence
The Declaration of Independence was for congress to declare independence from Great Britian. Independence day is now celebrated on July 4th.
