  • Colonization

    Colonization
    Great Britain sent explorers to the Americas. Later they established Colonies. People set out on the Mayflower to North America in search of religious freedom,wealth or adventure. They landed on Plymouth Rock in November. Later they started the 13 Clonies which was the basis of the United States.
  • The American Revolution

    The American Revolution
    In 1775 serious tensions began to grow between North America and Great Britain. One reason was because they felt as if they were taxed too much and were not being represented by The British people. North America then dcided that they were ready to be their own country. The revolution had begun. Finally in 1780 North America had won their independenc e from Great Britain and the U.S.A had been born. This is significant bacause if theis had not happened the U.S would not have been.
  • Constitution

    Constitution
    When the U.S had finally won it's independence from Great Britain they needed a way to govern itself. Then they came up with the Articles Of Confederation. Sadly it did not take long for them to realize it was not working out right. Then they came up with the Constitution. It was made by pointing out the flaws of the articles of Confederation and revising it. This is important because it is still the primary way U.S governs itself.

    After tha Louisianna purchase many Americans started to move West, but Native Americans were already living there. The American government did not care. They decided to move the Native American tribes to reservation they built for them.The long walk to their reservation was long and brutal. Many Native Americans Died. This was important because if this did not happen maybe the Native Americans would be more desperced around the country,and we may not have the states we have today.
  • California Gold Rush

    In January 1848, James Wilson Marshall discovered gold in the state of California. When the word got out many people came to parts of the West in search for getting rich quick.....GOLD. This event was very important in american history because as the word spread immigrants wanted to get in on it and immigerated to the United States. This made America more wide spread in people around the country today.
  • The Civil War

    The Civil War
    Because of Slavery the Nations were begining to devide, the Confederates and the Union. They devided for many reasons, but one important one was because of slavery. The North did NOT want slaves but the South DID. This caused a a problem and a war began. This was important because if it did not happen there may have sill been slaves, or African Americans may still not be treated equal.
  • Emansipation Proclamation

    Emansipation Proclamation
    The Emmancipation Proclamation was law that stated that slavery was officially illigal. One of the reasons that it was passed was because the United States had just gotten out of the Civil war and the North had won. This evnt was very important if it was not passed Slave would not have been freed and America would definately not bee the same.
  • Moon Landing

    Moon Landing
    In 1969 Neil A. Armstrong stepped foot on the Moon on the Apollo 13. He was the firs man on the Moon!!!!! This was a BIG accomplishment for the United States and was vey impacful on the on the amount of time and money the United States spends on space reaserch. It will also leave a permanent lagacy because now the United stats can alwys say they were the first to step on the Moon.

    9/11 was a very tragic event for the U.S. 9/11 was the biggest attack in American land since Pearl Harbor. It started when 1 Plane crashed into the first tower of the World Trade Center at 8:46, then another at the second tower at 9:03. later a plane crashed in the Pentagon and in a plain in Pensilvania. This was impactfil because it caused the Afganastan war that is still going on.
  • Hurricane Katrina

    Hurricane Katrina
    Hurricane Katrina was one of the worst storms to hit American coast. It lasted for 7 days. It landed on the Gulf of Mexico, and impacted mostly the city of New Orleans. Many lost their homes and did not have food. Though this was a trajic event it impacted the U.S by bringing us together. Many people donated food, and money for homes. Also it was one of the worst hurricanes in history.
