  • Great Awakening

    Great Awakening
    *It was led up to because the people began losing faith in their religion.
    *It was important because it tried to help the colonist communicate with each other.
    *During the event there was a movement with separate meetings and it changed social and political views of things.
    * The colonist responded by being a part of their religion again and better understanding it.
    * In the end more people communicated and formed equality
    * It ended in the 1840s by finally just going away.
  • The French and Indian War

    The French and Indian War
    *It was led up to by Britian and France who were both interested in the Ohio valley, the french would not leave until they claimed their land.
    * The colonist responded by being on Britians side and helping them. The British responded by taking in the colonist and helping them fight against the Indians.
    *This was important because it caused them to split the land equally among each other.
    *During the event the Britians took sides against the Indians causing rivals.

    *Also during the event in addition to the rivals there was a lot of fighting still going on.
    *In the end it caused more rivals and wars to come and there were changes in how much land you can own.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    *It was important because it tried to make peace without war and also to keep the land.
    *It led up from the Indian War with French fighting for land.
    *During the event the Proclamation banned any settlement in the Appalachian mountains.
    *The colonist responded by being angry and hated the proclamation.
    *It ended by Britians having different ideas for the colonies. This led up to the Sugar Act for laws.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    *It was led up from after all the wars that were before, and needed money to house soliders.
    *It was important because it added taxes to sugar and molasses around the colonies.
    *The colonist reacted by protesting the act and called for boycott. The britians wanted the military.
    *During the event the parliament decided to raise money for the colonist and made a law out of the act.
    *Ended because Samuel Adams said it was illegal.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    *It was led up by many complaints about the sugar so they decided to make a better systematical system.
    *It was important because instead of money people had to pay for an official seal or stamp when buying something.
    *During the event secret societies were made against it and a lot of money was paid to the government.
    *The Colonist form groups and used violence to tax collectors. The British repealed the stamp act.
    *It ended due to suffering of the colonies, they made the declaratory act.
  • Townshend Acts

    *It was led up because the British needed money for the debt.
    *Important because there was trading and duties of imported glasses, lead, and paints.
    *During the event laws were created and many colonist fought against it.
    *The colonist responded by attacking homes of tax collectors, legislatures, and Bbritish by sending soliders for the repealed parlament.
    *It ended because Samuel Adams thought it violated legal rights. There were a lot of complaints.
  • Boston Massacre

    *Led up from the Townshend act with the Bostonians.
    *Important because many Bostians saw British troops as a threat causing tension and the British made the propaganda.
    *During, there was a lot of tension between the british and the people of boston and many protestors.
    *The colonist responded by being scared of the soilders and British by not giving up.
    *It ended by Tomas Preston being guilty and faced with murder charges.

    *Led up from the Boston Massacre.
    *Important because there was millions of tea imported and exported.
    *During the tea act companies sold tea for high and low prices.
    *The colonist were upset during it and wanted it to be destoryed, and british wanted money.
    *It ended due to the colonist opposing and then leading into the Boston Tea Party.

    *Important because Tomas Hutchinson wanted all tea unloaded from any ships with 90,000 pounds of tea.
    *It led up from the argument of the tea act.
    *During the event colonist took part by dumbing 90,000 pounds of tea over board.
    *Colonist were happy by protesting against it but the british were mad for what they did.
    *It ended with all tea gone and decided to create the intolerable act.
  • Intolerable Act

    Intolerable Act
    *led up from the boston tea party.
    *Important because they wanted a better parliament so they can gain the tea back.
    *During the event many laws were set up for protection and to gain wealth.
    *The colonist were angry and tried to steal goods, and british wanted better rights for all.
    *It ended due to closing done of the harbor and the british abused the rights and caused problems.
  • Battle of Lexington/Concord

    Battle of Lexington/Concord
    *Important because it was at the beginning of the American Revolution.
    *It was led up because people in Boston had guns in Concord and they wanted them.
    *During there were many rivals and fighting against the minute men and British.
    *Colonist responded by being angry and wanted to win, The British had no fear.
    *It ended with many Colonist dead and only one British dead. This lead to a new battle.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    *Important because it was a moral victory and the British could stand up for themselves
    *It was led up from the battle of Concord and Lexington.
    *During the event there was a lot of fighting that took place on Breeds Hill and it was between the Colonist and British.
    *The Colonist responded by showing the British who was stronger and the British were upset and feared.
    *It ended by the British winning the fight after the people were trying to get the British away.
  • Common Sense

    Common Sense
    *Important because they argued to break away from Great Britian and spread into the 13 colonies.
    *Led up from all the colonies wanting to break free and because of the war.
    *During the event Tomas Paine wrote a pamphlet and gave it away to common people.
    *The colonist liked the common sense while the British refused and did not like the ideas that were expressed.
    *Fighting still continued leading to its end and there were changes made, moving into the Declaration of Independence.

    Declaration of Independence
    *Its important because it was the marking point where freedom was made for everyone.
    *It led up from the Common Sense event of time.
    *During the event many people wanted to leave the king of England and be free.. So they wanted to be a part of the declaration of independece.
    *The colonist were very happy that there was freedom but the British thought it was unessessary and should not leave the King of England.
    *It ended due political connections, colonies dissolve, and lack of communication.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    Battle of Saratoga
    *Important because many troops among New York fought and many rivals were maded.
    *Led up from the battle of Brandywine Creek.
    *During the event many allienciances were made and Saratoga had many victories. Also it was a major defeat to the British.
    *Colonist were happy to win and British were angry and wanted to win.
    *The New York won against british leading the british wanting revenge.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    *Important because its a battle against the French general and it surrounded the walls to fight against New York.
    *Led up from the defeat of Battle of Saratoga.
    *During the event many people were allianced and New York tried to stay complete.
    *The colonist did not want to fight while the British wanted to take over.
    *The end was that Yorktown surrrendered and lost the fight leading into the treaty of paris.

    Treaty Of Paris
    *Important because it laid out laws and borders of where to go.
    *Led up from the battle of Yorktown.
    *During the event rights were accepted between English and French and also many lands were made.
    *The colonist and british liked the idea of being free and having freedom.
    *In the end no war occured between anyone.
