    500 BC pizza invented

    The common belief is that Italians invented pizza, but its origin goes back to ancient times in the Middle East. Babylonians, Israelites, Egyptians, Armenians, Greeks and Romans, and other ancient cultures ate flat, unleavened bread cooked in mud ovens. Circa 500 B.C.), Persian soldiers baked a flatbread on their shields which they then covered with cheese and dates.
  • Declaration of Independence

    On July 2, 1776, congress considered the resolution again, The measure passed and the colonies were considered independent from Great Britain.
  • The Louisiana Purchase

    The Louisiana Purchase was made by America from France.Jefferson was excited about the purchase but the Constitution didn't say anything about his right to buy land. But it was bought for $15 million dollars.

    Hariet Beecher Stowe was angered by the Fugitive Slave Act. Her drive and passion drove her to write "Uncle Tom's Cabin" a novel about the cruelty or slavery. It describes the escape of a slave named Eliza and her baby across the Ohio River.

    In 1855 there were more proslavery than antislavery settlers in Kansas.Antislavery rejected the elected government. In May, a proslavery mob looted the town of Lawrence, john brown then led men in a massaacre. As the violence spread , civil war broke out in Kansas. The territory came to be known Bledding Kansas.

  • The Attack on Fort Sumter

    In 1861 in south Carolina a federal outpost was attacked by confederate troops starting the civil war. April 12th, confederates opened fire on fort sumter. After 34 hours of cannon blasts fort Sumter surrendered,

    The U.S. Department of the Treasury first issued paper U.S. currency in 1862 to make up for the shortage of coins and to finance the Civil War.There was a shortage of coins because people had started hoarding them; the uncertainty caused by the war had made the value of items fluctuate drastically
  • When Softball was Invented

    Softball was first introduced on Thanksgiving Day in 1887 at a Harvard-Yale football game.
    By 1913, the game was officially adopted by the Minneapolis Park Board and was played in parks and on playgrounds all over the city
  • Supreme Court Case Brown vs Board of Education

    In Linda brown had to travel across town to get to school. Her dad sued to allow her to go to a closer school. May 17, 1954,the Supreme Court ordered public schools to integrate with white schools.
  • The Death of Elvis

    In November 1973 he was hospitalized for pneumonia. He died August 16th, 1977, his death was covered up by his family but it is alleged to be caused by an overdose of prescription pills.
